Hoopla and Everything in between

Assalamualaikum everyone,

I know i've been neglecting the blog, primarily because i've been busy with malaysian night, netball thingies and generally keeping up with this hellish uni workload. Plus, theres this thing called Facebook which everyone is getting hooked on and its a good substitute for blogging, kalau malas lah especially.
Everything is moving so fast, in 2 days it will be March and i will be 20 and its a month to Easter break and after that its another month or so to summer break. The year is nearly ending and im not sure how i feel about it. Hmmm.....
Currently i am in the geography computer room coz its much more quiet and laid back here than in the library. Cause in the library mcm pressure kan blajar or whatever, and i like it here since its not too crowded. Last weekend was very productive-ish for me, okay...not really productive but it got me thinking. I was bored as hell at one point or another but it didnt stop me from wasting the day away. For one i rearranged my room so it looks at least big enough to house 2-3 people if they so choose to come over. And....i'm getting way way way more involved in the Malaysian Night thing with a minor acting role in the play and the dancing2. Im guessing things like these is a good way to meet people and actually get off ur ass and actually do something productive. So, its a good distractor to boredom and being alone in your tiny room. Haha.
How's uni you might ask? Its going okay-ishh.. I'm already in week 6 and in about 6 more weeks everything will wind down with a lot of work to be handed in in between....gawd....pressure.. I have this one module where u're supposed to analyse popular music according to one different characteristic every week. So last week was to analyse Kylie's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" according to the time signature and the week before that was Kate Bush's "December Coming" and this is according to PITCH. I was like wtf?!?!?!?! Macam buleh lagi obscure assignmentnya ani, stressku meikirkan and that's why i havent started it because i don't exactly know where to begin. Its going to be a portfolio kind of assignment/coursework and i have to start somewhere before it all come crashing down like a stupid snowy avalanche. Okay...im ranting now. Better stop. Haha..
That's it for now me thinks, i will probably blog again later to tell you about what other things to bore you all with. Hahaha.
Till then, don't let the hoopla and everything in between bring you down.

Unfocussed and Delirious

Hey y'all,

Another weekly post on thursday. I havent been a good blogger since i hardly update anymore, for that i apologize...everything's just been crazy lately and when i did want to post a blog..it disappeared into the abyss..never to be recovered again. Hehehe.

Two weeks have flown by relatively quickly, baru jua last last weekend i was in Leicester living it up with echam ( i spent close to 5 days in Leicester) munching on Chicken Cottage ribs and walking in the most sakit snowstorm around. But i had fun because i was with my bestfriend. Enough said. Last weekend was a different kind of hectic. I got sick again, the third time in this year and thats not good since im usually as healthy as an ox and i hate being sick....makes me look weak and it especially sucks when theres no one to take care of you. I swear the time i was sick my mind was calling out to my mom...i was so homesick and generally delirious as hell. I didn't know what to do with myself.
Then, Beb and gang came down to Liverpool to go for an outing to Chehshire Oaks and i braved my fever to go with them. Plus i needed the retail therapy as well and as a congratulatory pat on the back for passing all my papers for semester 1. Now i have to brave through semester 2 and hope that i do even better so i can go home in summer and totally be relaxed. Amiiin.
This whole 2 weeks ive been really unfocussed, i mean i know i should be doing my assignments and enriching my mind by reading more books and shit but sometimes i couldn't be bothered. Im always this close (Forefinger and thumb inches from each other) to giving up but then im always a fighter, so i fight. But, it can get pretty hard...mcm membari malas berabis and sometimes im just at a loss of what to do.
Moments like these i really wish that echam or elush weren't so darn far away, or i wish i had a car and just drive to where they are. Senang. But then i dont have those things and eventhough theres phones and msn for all that....its not the same. How the hell am i going to survive 3 more months here when im already like this? Dear god, please strengthen my spirit and give me the courage to do as well as i hope to do. Amiin.
Enough of the soul searching....
Catch you lot later.

Born in March and what it actually means.

Hallo people,

Just thought id drop by and blog since im 20 minutes away from my next and final class for the week. And then its off to Leicester for the weekend for the Leicester games. Oh...its started snowing today! Woohhooo...i could tell that it was going to snow (not that im psychic or anything) but then last night it was really cold and i didnt even open the windows. The cold just seemed to seep in. Anyway, i'll post about the snow and everything another time...with pictures no less.
Got an email about the days you were born in kinda thingy. I know these kinds of emails don't hold any merit whatsoever but its kinda cool to at least pretend to believe in it once in a while. I found myself swayed into believing it because it does ring true in some way. So here it is...what being born in March means.
MARCH=GORGEOUS. Drop dead gorgeous!!! Attractive personality. Very sexy. Affectionate, secretive, naturally honest, generous and sympathetic. Chatterbox! Loves to talk alot!. Loves to get their way! Unbelievable kisser! Easily angered. Very stubborn in the most way possible! Loves to get noticed! Willing to take risks for others. Makes good choices. Has a great fashion sense! Maybe a little too popular with others * wink wink*. Outgoing and crazy at times! Intelligent. Can sometimes be a heartbreaker! Can love as much as possible! Hates insults. Loves compliments! A very big flirt! Trustworthy. Appreciative and returns kindness. The best in bed out of MFE these months!! Hardly shows emotions. Tends to bottle up feelings. Observant and assesses others.
I swear, i did not make this up, it was in an email someone
sent me, so the validity of it is highly subjective. Haha. I guess some of it is
true like the one about being a big flirt because i do flirt sometimes i do it
unconciously..its just a habit of mine. Hehehe. Not necessarily a bad thing but
then.... And the thing about having a good fashion sense...YEAH RIGHT!! Tia
karang. I mean i know what looks good and everything but then when it comes to
applying that to myself...mcm inda menjadi. Thats annoyingly frustrating. Tapi
most of the things said here is true. Cuba you guys imagine reading this and see
if it fits with my personality. Let me know. Im gonna put one up for April as
well to see if it fits with echam's personality.
Gotta go now and climb a few flight of stairs to my next
class. Catch up with you all soon.
Ciao bella.

Its raining snowdrops...

Hey everyone.

It has finally happened..SNOW!!! At 3 in the morning. What was i doing still up at 3 am..thats going to be another story for another time. Wheeeee. Maybe you all experienced this in January and Liverpool being Liverpool, it had to happen at a weird time. Hehehe. It happened quite unexpectedly. I was about to go to bed and its a habit of mine to just look out the window and spy on people and as i pulled back the curtains....i saw snow falling.
I was like....AIIIIIIIII....sakai ani waah. Mcm i know what snow was supposed to look like but seeing it actually falling in front of my eyes...i was awestruck. Its not really heavy2 snow but i hope esuk pagi there'll be a thick blanket of snow...and hopefully the snow won't melt it all.
Oh no....what do u wear when it snows? Surely not trainers...and certainly not fliflops...i guess its the trusty old puma boots from now on. Hahaha. I can't believe its snowing because my seniors said that it usually snows in March...so what does this tell me....a) Possible drastic climate change causing the weather to shift to February instead of March b) they were wrong and c) Its just a dream...lol...highly unlikely this third point.
So...i've experienced snow...but i havent gone out and had a snowball fight or made a snow angel or a snowman...all in due course i hope. Hehe. Below are some of the pictures i took in my hyperness to capture the moment. The quality is a bit....lacking but u can still see the snow falling.

Taken at Mulberry Court, Liverpool.
Taken from my room which is on the 5th floor

Snowdrops falling....

Taken at 3:00 am on 6th February 2007

I'm thinking this is before the snow came falling....coz its so clear.....

Bundle up and keep warm people and try not to get the munchies and blame it on winter...i'll try my best to do the same =P

Chicken soup for the Weekend Soul

Hallo people,
Last weekend was a good weekend. It basically started on Thursday night. And you know how sometimes one day feels like another...well...i experienced that last weekend. I thought Thursday night was Friday and Friday night was Saturday. It was the whole feel of the weekend.
On thursday night, we went to a birthday party gathering at Leopold Road to celebrate Noor's 21st birthday. We just hung out and chilled and ordered take out. That night was bascally splurging on the food and doing nothing. Went back home at midnight and i didnt actually sleep till 4 am, i was too hyped up and giddy over that birthday party. LoL.
The next night, we had a mini Bru-Liverpudlian get together at Teck Street and that was LAGI siok. hahaha. Eventho the house was small and everyone had to kinda squeeze into the living room, it felt homey and cozy and the food was amazing. Felt satisfied like you wouldn't believe. And there were these chicken wings...nyaman...tapi malu saya kan ambil second round since there were so many ppl. Biasalah...rumah urg...not my house...mesti ada a bit of decorum when it comes to eating. When almost everyone left, tinggal me, sue and Yuud, we played this fighting2 game on the Playstation and this bowling game. Siok...eventho im crap at video games...hahaha..but on these games im surprisingly good. Hahaha. Puji diri sendiri.
When it got to about midnight, Cher, Tikah, Aiman and Syimah pajal us to stay over for the night but then me and Sue didnt bring our overnight stuff..so we just said lain kali tah. Haha. But then, when we were walking back home, it came to us that the next day was a Saturday and we didnt have anything planned..so we texted Aiman to ask if we could sleepover esuknya...and they welcomed us with open arms. Haha.
I can go into a long and winding explanation about how the sleepover went but then krg it'll look like im rambling and i dont want to ramble. So im just gonna leave you guys with these pictures. Hehe.
Nando's Birthday Party for Amal

Meezah + Sue + Amal

Bru-Liverpudlians (minus Livie, Sanny and Yusrita)
Meez + Aimi + Sue

Last weekend was a definitely good weekend, i enjoyed myself thoroughly. The company was great, the food was good and the entertainment left me not wanting to go back to my boring room in my halls. Hahaha. Will probably do that again in the near future.

Sleepovers are definitely THE "Chicken Soup for the Weekend/Weakened Soul". hehe. Clever eh? I came up with that myself. =P

Nothing in particular

Assalamualaikum everyone,

Just a quick and random post since im bored waiting for my next class to start. The last class i had was on Music as an Industry and interesting atu of course lah...tapi kdg2 the room goes silent and i get guilty for not saying anything. Aku lagi jenisnya yg inda suka awkward silences. My tutor asked me why i took this course and aku gtau lah yg back home the music industry not as happening as the ones over here. And he asked me where home was? So i said Brunei, and he had a smile on his face and i asked if he knew where it was, tau lah omputih ani kdg2 ignorant of other places. So...he said yeah...he knows that the Sultan of Brunei is well off. Well off nya...gila2.. understatement banar.
This made me wonder about the FHM article and how far it has circulated within this country. Maybe he knew abt Brunei through reading that article. I mean its good that Brunei gets the exposure but its not a healthy kind of exposure if you know what i mean? I've read the article and it seems to make Bruneians look like a whole lotta rich, pompous, over-privileged asses which we are not. I don't know where my tutor knew where Brunei was..but he did mention the dude and so...im assuming he got it from FHM. Naughty2. This proves that men do read the magazine for the articles...and not just the pictures. Hahahahaha.
I dont know how this post helps the you or me...just felt like getting it off my chest. I'm sorry if this post doesnt sound intelligent at all...buuttt....i will remedy that with another post that is definitely worth ur time. Hehehe.

God's Blood and Burial

Bet that title got you going there didn't it. Don't worry...i havent gone to the dark side...

Firstly hello all...

The title is actually a song by Coheed and Cambria..this rock band i discovered (not discovered discovered but found to my liking). I remember that i found out about these guys abt early 2006 and i've since converted echam to the darkside of ROCK. Woohoo.

I was just listening to this track because i had assignment for class which was to analyze any music we liked. I decided to go for Coheed and Cambria's track called "Keeping the Blade" from an album which has a superlongnamewhichiwontevenbothertotypeout. Haha. I guess this assignment is a prelude into what we'll be doing for the next 12 wks...analyzing popular music. I chose this particular track because for me it really stuck out since its obviously a rock band and a rock album but the first song is actually a stringed instrumental track. Not something you easily associate to rock but then it had a really haunting and ominous feel about it which relates to rock nicely. I hope i'll be able to describe it well in my tutorials nanti coz this area is rather subjective...analysing tah lagi...think of the possibilities!!

Anyways..i was listening to this album (which is very very good) and it made me reminisce (luruskah ejaannya). Basically saya ber-nostalgia lah. I remember playing this album in echam's car (BB) at full blast, usually masa pagi2 after aero. It kept our spirits high and gave us a burst of adrenaline. Plus...with the windows down, wind in our hair and singing along to it while cruising the streets of Brunei was extremely priceless. I like and miss very much.

I've talked to a bunch of people back home who has yet to start uni like Chee Hau and Deekay Amal and i am excited for them. You know the whole next chapter of your life..the beginning of the future and yada yada yada yada is very daunting and exciting...so i'm wishing them the best of luck. I know they'll be fine. Plus with them in Aussie...u know where to crash if u go on an Oz trip. Hehehe. Kawan guna kawan banaaar. Hopefully everyone will be back for the summer vacation or winter break for the Aussies and the Kiwis so we could all get together and hang out. Its a plan.

Thats it for now...gotta go analyze this before my mind falls into pieces.

Goodnyte everyone..and sleep well
